Alistair Overeem UFC Career

On September 6 in 2011 the news was released the news that Overeem has signed a deal with the UFC and that his first fight would take place on the 30th of the 30th of December, 2011 on UFC 141 against the former UFC Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar. The build-up towards the match. In November 2011 the NSAC ordered both competitors to submit to testing of substances outside of competition.

Overeem was the winner of his first professional kickboxing contest at the age of 15 on Nov. 15, 1997 at 17 years of age in a K-1 rules contest. Following that, he faced Paul Hordijk on March 14 1999. He won by a unanimous decision. Then, he moved on to K-1 in which he took on Errol Parris as well as Glaube Feitosa twice over the course of six years. Overeem was knocked out of the two fights, however he fought on in MMA.
