Viviane Araujo Gomes was born on November 21, 1986 in Ceilandia, Brazil. In her early years her favorite sport was soccer. She spent the majority of her days away from home in order to forget about her troubles at home, caused by an abusive father.

Araujo discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and was invited to participate in the training with her instructor. She later became a trainer herself, and then moved into mixed martial art.

Viviane Araujo made her professional debut on the 11th of October 2015 and took the fight through submission in the first round.

On the 5th of August Araujo was crowned the Pancrase strawweight title by beating Emi Fujino with a technical knockout. The match took place at Pancrase 298 in Tokyo, Japan.
