Majid Michel (born on the 22nd of September in 1981) is a well-known Ghanaian model, actor, and director. He is also a socialite also a filmmaker. The beautiful and famous figure is famous for his role as the role of a love-struck girl in a movie.

He has been a member of the movie industry for over 20 years. He has been successful in the entertainment industry due to his ability to portray any character filmmakers might have assigned him.

Majid Michel was born in Cantonments which is a region of Accra Ghana, the capital city of Ghana on September 22, 1980. He was the son of Paulina Olympio (mother) and Michael Michel-Erawoc (father). His parents came originally from Ghana in Ghana and Lebanon.

He was born in Accra, Ghana, along with his nine siblings: Aro Michel, Roberta Michel, Sputnic Michel, Isaac Michel, Juliette Michel, Isabella Michel, Michael Michel, Reggie Michel, Georgette Michel as well and Shawki Michel.

Majid Michel was a student at St. Theresa’s Primary School prior to transferring to the Mfantsipim School which was also Van Vicker as well as Kofi Annan’s school of choice.

At High School, Majid Michel was a part of performances in the theater and was part of the Drama club. He was a member of the theater club and at Emancipation Day in Cape Coast, Ghana, he won the award for Best Actor in one of their shows.

Career

Following being first introduced to the company by a friend, Majid Michel decided to try out for an agency for modeling. He was invited by another neighbor to be a part of the Super Model Agency modeling agency. He was a prominent character in the TV series Things We Do For Love and earned his stage title Shaker.

The Lebanese youngster was expected to play the role in The Things We Do to Love as well. Majid Michel believes that due to his Lebanese heritage, he was given the role. The actor revealed this in an interview

Interview on Star FM Ghana that he was not able to get the part in the film that he tried to audition for due to his poor performance and cited his “love for acting” as the reason he kept performing.

Things We Do for the Love of God was a smash and he was able to launch his name into the spotlight. Majid Michel was picked for his debut movie, Divine Love in the role of male lead due to his performance on the TV series. Jackie Appiah was the female lead. Van Vicker was in a supporting role.

Three actors were actors for the first time through acting in the feature film. Because of the huge popularity of Divine Love, Majid Michel, Jackie Appiah, and Van Vicker became well-known figures in Ghana.

Majid Michel played the lead role in the 2008 film The Agony of the Christ, which was nominated for seven 2009 Africa Movie Academy Awards. In October of 2017, the actor revealed that he is paid a minimum of US$15,000 for a film role and has received as much as $35,000 for a lead part. He also revealed in 2016 that, despite appearing in a majority of romantic roles in films, however, he has never been involved in sexual relations in a relationship with an actor.

Majid Michel declared in a radio interview in October 2017 that he would not accept any longer to play the character who requires him to kiss during filming because of his religious beliefs.

Majid Michelis one of the Ghanaian actors who made it into the film industry when Frank Rajah Arase reached an agreement in partnership with Abdul Salam Mumuniof Venus Films in Ghana. The primary purpose of the agreement was to bring mainstream Ghanaian actors into Nollywood and elevate their fame to the level of Nigerian actors.

In addition to Genevieve Nnaji, Majid Michel made his debut in Nigerian Nollywood in the love movie 2009 Emerald. While his performance and excellent on-screen relationship with the actress were well-received, the film received mostly poor to negative reviews.

Majid Michel became famous in Nigeria through the 2009 film Silent Scandals which has been praised due to its high quality of production, its performance, and the chemistry on screen with Genvieve Nnaji.

In the words of Nollywood Forever, “His [Michel’sintenseness is concentrated on his eyes and he utilizes it with skill. It is therefore understandable that he will always be in roles where women and love and their sexiness are a major part of the story.”

Another film that starred Majid Michel, Guilty Pleasures was released in the following year. Guilty Pleasures was generally praised upon its release. His performance was also appreciated.

He continued to profit from his lucrative career in 2010, appearing once again together with Genvieve Nnaji for a film that was not a huge hit Bursting Out.

When he began working with Nigeria, Majid Michel was known for his outspokenness when it came to the press. In an interview, he admitted that the first time he saw the woman he was to meet, Genevieve Naji, “everything stood still.” He was so impressed that he agreed to carry her bag and act in the capacity of her personal assistant.

In a separate interview, he said that Genevieve Nnaji was the top kisser in the business of film. In another interview he gave, Nnaji said that Ghana does not have a film industry and stated the fact that Genevieve Nnaji taught him “how to act.”

Each of them, as well as his graphic roles in films, caused him to be the target of arguments throughout his career. The story was reported at that time, that the actor was preparing to leave Nigeria due to death threats the actor allegedly received from Nigerian colleagues who believed that he was taking on numerous roles. In 2011, he returned to performing in Ghana during this time, acting in films such as Four Play (2010) and its sequel 4 Play Reloaded (2011).

Majid Michel played a tyrant character in the 2012 war film “Somewhere In Africa. Despite the film’s mediocre review, he was rewarded with high praise for his performance as the character. He also became the first actor to be awarded the Africa Movie Academy Award.

Other 2014 films starring Majid Michel include Forgetting June which was a hit and received mostly negative reviews. However, he was part of two movies The Being Mrs. Elliot and Knocking at Heaven’s Door Both of them were a success both commercially and critically.
