The stage name he chose for himself; was Travis Scott because of the combination of a cherished uncle of his and the name of the name that was first given to one of his idols, Kid Cudi which happens to be Scott Mescudi by birth name.

Early Life

Travis Scott‘s father was a businessman, while his mother was employed by Apple. In his early years, Scott lived with his mother in South Park, Houston.

Living in the south-central part of Houston was not easy for Scott since the area was known for its crime scene which had a few negative effects on him in the past.

The bizarre and unsettling incidents he observed caused him to leave the area to live with his parents in Missouri City which is a middle-class suburb and also an area that borders southwest Houston.

Travis Scott was a long-time acquaintance of, Chris Holloway who he joined in a duo and released their debut EP back in the year 2008 via Myspace, which is an online social media website. While he was in the duo together with Chris Holloway, they decided to call themselves The Graduates.

The year 2009 was the time that Travis Scott created a new group called The Classmates together with one of his former classmates, OG Chess. Buddy Rich and Cruis’n USA were two projects that they collaborated on and were released in 2009 and 2010, respectively. However, they separated in 2012 over financial and personal disagreements.

Scott made his debut on stage in the film 2021 Gully in the role of the owner of a cinema store. He also made a contribution to the soundtrack, but Scott’s song “Knife” was cut due to issues with sampling, however, it was featured in the movie. In August of 2021, Scott signed a film production contract together with A24. On the same day, he announced the finalization of a script for a film inspired by his fourth album Utopia.

Scott founded The Cactus Jack Foundation in November 2020 in order to help Houston youngsters with educational expenses and artistic endeavors. In the month of December 2021, Cactus Jack rolled many toys to children in Houston. On May 17th, 2022 Scott made it clear that he would award one million dollars worth of scholarship money to students at HBCU colleges from the class graduating in 2022. The foundation is called the Cactus Jack Foundation.
