Bo Burnham‘s career began in the year 2006 when he created an online video of him performing two songs that he uploaded on YouTube to give to his family. However, the videos were viewed by his family and into the eyes of the general public and soon became popular on YouTube, break.com, and other websites.

In addition to his guitar or a digital piano, Burnhamendured to launch self-described “pubescent musical comedy” songs and online movies as his audience expanded. The Boston Globe described him in The Boston Globe as “simultaneously healthy and disturbing, intimate in a folksy-creepy type of way”, Bo Burnham wrote and performed songs on racism, Helen Keller‘s handicaps as well as homosexuality, and others.
