Ugbekile David Osemeke (born on 10th May 2001) is an Afro-fusion rising musician and singer who shot into the limelight following the signing of a record deal with Mavin Records.

David the singer, who is also known professionally by the name Boy Spyce was revealed in the role of Mavin Recordings the latest signing artist on April 14, 2022.

He dropped his self-titled EP debut, Boy Spyce just twenty-four hours after announcements of his signing swept the internet.

This EP is a project of five tracks comprised of songs: Dreams, Wayo, Destiny, Nobody, and Bad Things. Boy Spyce is currently the most streamed project in Nigeria.

Early Life

Boy, Spyce is a resident of Lagos State all his life. He has raised in Isolo the most sought-after district located in the mainland region of Lagos and lived in the Jakande Estate.

The birth name was David Ugbekile Osemeke to the Ugbekile family consisting of the couple late Mr. as well as Mrs. Ugbekileon on the 10th May 2001.

Boy Spyce comes in the region of South-South. He was born in Edo State. He comes from a household of eight. He has five brothers and is the youngest child in the family.

Boy Spyce started his journey into music at a very young age. As a child, he’d been influenced by the Afrobeats and Hip-Hop music that was created by Nigerian musicians. Through listening to music that was played on radio stations, he discovered an appreciation for music and began to think about taking it on as a career.

He began to write songs during his leisure time and then he would perform those songs in front of his fellow students. The first song he wrote was as a child in primary five. When he was a high school student, Boy Spyce was a part of his school’s various musical competitions and won numerous prizes along the way.

Boy, Spyce was a top private nursery and primary school situated in Isolo for his primary schooling.

He attended Lagos Model College, Kankon, Badagry, to complete his secondary school education. He graduated from the school in 2017 with excellent marks during his West African Certificate Examination.

He is currently pursuing an undergraduate qualification with a major in Accounting at a top college in the nation.

After a period of time at the school He was then given a contract with Mavin Records which he accepted and was accepted into Mavin Records. He was a part of the Mavin family. The label announced Boy Spyce on the 14th of April 2022. As is the tradition of signing new artists He released his debut EP shortly after the news about his signing was announced on the web.,

The album debut is also a self-titled one and is also a tradition of the Mavin Family. The other label mates, Rema, Ruger, Ayra Starr, and Magixx have issued self-titled debut albums too.

Boy Spyce‘s signing will be announced in the coming months later than Magixx has been revealed as Mavin’s newest show. This means that Boy Spyce is the second artist signed by the label in the space of six months.

Boy Spyce EP is a listen-only EP with a duration that is 14 minutes. The project’s songs include Dreams, Wayo, Destiny, Nobody, and Bad Things. the music video to Nobody was released on the 15th of April 2022. The video was directed and shot by the top music video producer T.G. Omori.
