Rauw Alejandro the musical genius was born on the 10th of January 1993 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The name he was born under, Raul Alejandro Ocasio-Ruiz suggested his roots within Canovanas in Canovanas and Carolina. He has two sisters: Gabriela Ocasio and Andrea Ocasio.

Rauw Alejandro took musical inspiration from his father who was a guitarist, Raul Ocasio, and singer mother Maria Nelly Ruiz, drawing inspiration from legends such as Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson as well and Chris Brown. Growing up in a musically inclined family and a passion for music, he found his passion for music at an early age singing and playing guitar since the age of a child.
