Jonah Marais Roth Frantzich (born on 16 June 1998) is an American artist and songwriter. He is part of the boy group, “Why Don’t We.”.

The group, which consists of five members, is signed by Atlantic Records. Self-taught musician and singer along with his groupmates, Jack Avery, Corbyn Besson, Zach Herron, and Daniel Seavey, formed the group in the year 2016.

Since its formation, The group has managed to record two albums as well as five EPs. The group was nominated for two categories in this year’s MTV Video Music Award.

Jonah Marais was born in the state of Minnesota on the 16th day of June 1998.

He was born in Stillwater City. Parents are. Timothy Frantzich and Mrs. Carrie Frantzich. He is the second son in the family. He has three siblings: Zebulon, Esther, HTML0and Svea Frantzich.

He was dubbed Marais for a town he was born in called Grand Marais which his parents visited prior to his birth. He is from a musical family, as everyone in the family has a great voice and good singing.

As Jonah reached the age of adolescence, his interest grew in music. He also began to teach himself to play and sing. He gave his first stage show as a solo performer as a child in the sixth grade in a talent show. He sang a rendition of John Lennon‘s song, Imagine.

While he was composing the music scene, Jonah Marais was also a fan of baseball. He had played the sport from a very young age and was a part of the baseball team at the high school he attended during the first year of his sophomore year. He ceased playing when his mom suffered a breast cancer diagnosis. Instead, he paid more time to music to deal with the grief that filled his heart in the moment.

After graduating from high school, Jonah Marais was able to experience singing in his debut concert live at Digifest in 2015. Digifest. He performed in front of thousands of delighted fans. He was a part of the Digitour. That was the way his path met with his members, Zach Herron, Corbyn Besson Daniel Seavey, and Jack Avery who were also exploring their individual careers at the moment.

The first single he released, I Meant It on the 7th day of July 2015. The track was well-loved and that led him to film the video just a month later. After a long period of work, he released the first full-length play (EP). The EP called “When the Daylight’s Gone is out in April of 2016. A few weeks prior to that, he gave his followers a sneak peek dropping a single called “War Paint which served as the main track on the EP.

On the back of his album’s success, Jonah Marais dropped another hit song in the second quarter of this year, entitled “Next Ex-Girlfriend.”. A few days after it was released, the single singer confirmed long-running speculation from music bloggers in joining the group Why Do We. The members of his band were his new pals, Zach, Jack, Daniel, and Corbyn. Five artists opted to combine their talents creating timeless sound. Jonah Marais made this decision because he believes great art is created by collaboration. Jonah Marais officially joined the band on September 27, 2016.

Since he joined the group He has been working on releases of 2 studio albums as well as five EPs. With his bandmates, he released the first track, Taking You, to the delight of their fans on October 20, 2016. Their debut single, Only the Beginning was released one month later on 25th November. Jonah Marais has provided vocals for four EPs, namely the following: The Other Side of the Story (April 2017) Then How Come We Don’t (June 2017) The Invitation (September 2017) and A Why Don’t We Christmas (November 2017).
