He spent some of his youth in Nigeria in the time his father was a professor of computer science at The State University of Nigeria, Enugu.

Jidenna is a member of Janelle Monae’s Wondaland Records label and is distributed through Epic Records. Through the label, he’s worked with a variety of artists including Roman GianArthur, St. Beauty, Deep Cotton, and Janelle Monae the label’s manager.

The next project he was with recording the Eephus The Eephus, a five-song collection of the label’s first extended performance (EP). The first track composed by Jidenna and Roman GianArthur, Classic Man first came out in February. Following the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart debut at 49th position, the track gained lots of airplay around the world.
