Abbas Hamad (born on May 27th, 1987) known by his professional name of Bas is a talented musician and rapper of in the United States.

He is a Dreamville Records artist signed to Interscope Records by J. Cole.

The second album of his studio, Too High to Riot came out on the 4th of March, 2016 while his debut album, Last Winter came out on April 29, 2014.

Career

In 2011, just at the start of Bas‘s career, he dropped the mixtape he first released, Quarter Water Raised Vol. 1. His mixtape 2, Quarter Water Raised Vol. 2 was released in the year 2013.

He was on two tracks by J. Cole: New York Times featuring 50 Cent from Cole’s Born Sinner album as well as Hells Kitchen featuring DJ Khaled from Suffering from Success.

Later, he made an appearance as a guest on his mixtape Revenge of the Dreamers, which was a Dreamville collection. Bas was signed to Interscope Records as an outcome of Dreamville’s collaboration in partnership with Interscope Records, celebrating the release of the mixtape. The EP was free entitled Two Weeks’ Notice two weeks prior to when the release of his debut album Last Winter was released to purchase.

Bas performed in January 2014 as part of the What Dreams May Come Tour. On April 29 2014 Dreamville Records and Interscope Records released The Last Winter album. The album is an idea-driven project that contains reference to the cold days of New York City where it was recorded.

The song The single, My Nigga Just Made Bail produced by GP808 and included J. Cole in the role of a special guest was the album’s promotion vehicle. A total of 3 thousand 6 hundred copies of the album were sold during the first week, bringing it to 103rd place at the top of the Billboard 200.

Bas embarked on an album-themed tour of 10 cities across the nation following its release. Then, he embarked on a 24-city, domestic as well as international trek with TDE the rapper Ab-Soul after his last Winter concert tour.

He worked with J. Cole on the track 2014 Forest in the year 2015. Bas was a participant with J. Cole in the 2013 Forest Hills Drive Tour alongside Big Sean, YG, Omen, and Cozz.

What dedication and hard work brought him to put out his sophomore album Too High To Riot on March 4, 2016. His labelmates J. Cole, Cozz, and The Hics make appearances throughout the record.

The album was sold to 10,965 people within its first week of release and it debuted at the 49th position in the Billboard 200 list. Each track included on the album features an accompanying music video that was later released by the artist.

In June of 2016, Bas embarked on an album-themed tour along with Cozz and EarthGang. There were 26 North American cities and 10 European cities were represented. The documentary that showcased the tour was released on Tidal on the 29th of January 2017.

Bas released the one-off track Pinball II featuring Correy C on April 10, 2018.

He dropped Tribe the second single from him on the 22nd of August. The track is a collaboration with J. Cole. After the success and popularity of his first album, on the 24th of August, 2018, Cole released the third studio album titled The Milky Way. With album-equivalent sales of 13,150 units in the first week of release, the album was released at number 35 on the Billboard 200.

He announced a tour of 43 cities to promote the album which began in November of 2018 and lasted until February 2019. The singer announced at the close of the year that he was working on a project with the Hics on an album. The album is set to be released in late 2021 or in early 2022.
