Melody Thornton flew to Burbank, California, at 19 years old and auditioned for the Pussycat Dolls. Robin Antin, the group’s creator, was in agreement to work with Jimmy Iovine of Interscope Geffen A&M Records to develop and develop The Pussycat Dolls into an entity and create an entirely separate group of pop singers.

Her selection was to enhance their vocal abilities and join Carmit Bachar Ashley Roberts, Nicole Scherzinger, Jessica Sutta, and Kimberly Wyatt. Melody Thornton signed an agreement to join her The Pussycat Dolls collaboration and would be receiving part of the profits.

The Pussycat Dolls gained worldwide recognition in 2005 through their debut album PCD which came out at number five on the U.S. Billboard 200 Chart and produced the hit songs Do Not Chu, Buttons, And Stickwitu. Stickwitu has earned the group nominations for Grammy Awards. Grammy Award.

Following Carmit Bachar’s demise in the month of March 2008, the group remained an ensemble and recorded the second album of their studio, Doll Domination, in 2008. The album featured songs like”When I Grow Old,” Hate This Part, Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny) as well as Hush Hush. Melody Thornton was the only member with Nicole Scherzinger who sang on Doll Domination.

Additionally, Melody Thornton provides background vocals on the tracks When I Grow Up, Whatcha You Think About That, In Person as well as Top of the World. The singer also recorded her first solo track, Space, which was included in the special version of Doll Domination.
