According to talkSport, Former Chelsea midfielder, Frank Lampard, could be appointed Chelsea manager in the next 48 hours.

The Derby County coach is set to return to Stamford Bridge with his assistant coach and former Blues player, Jody Morris.

They are expected to seal the deal in the next 48 hours.

The Ex England international has been the favourite to replace Maurizio Sarri, following his departure to Juventus.

Lampard has been Derby manager for a season and missed out on securing promotion to the Premier League in his first campaign.

He led his side to the Championship play-off at Wembley, only to be defeated by Aston Villa.
