Arsenal Set To Appoint Arteta As New Manager
English Premier League side, Arsenal, have decided to appoint Manchester City’s assistant coach, Mikel Arteta as the club’s new manager.
According to Sky Sports, the club’s chief had a meeting with Arteta at his house after the Gunners 3-0 loss to Manchester City on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium.
A further report had it that the chief executive of the North London side, Vinai Venkatesham and chief contract negotiator, Huss Fahmy, were spotted leaving Arteta’s house in the North West London in the early hours of Monday.
Arsenal’s interim manager, Freddie Ljungberg has called on the club’s board to appoint a new coach following their defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.
Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, while speaking on Arteta’s possible move to arsenal said he would be allowed to leave Etihad if he wanted.
Guardiola said: “Arteta has a lot [of influence]. In the end, it’s personal, if he wants a job we are open to talk. I don’t want to make him uncomfortable.”
