Olawale Olofooro Ashimi (born 9 May 1986) who is known by his Brymo, the stage title Brymo is a songwriter, creative Nigerian writer, producer, performer, and songwriter.
He is among the Nigerian performers rated for his lyrics and delivery. He began singing at 14 and recorded his first song by the age of 18. He also published his fictional book, titled “Oriri’s Plight”.
Brymo was an internationally renowned Nigerian celebrity after signing with Chocolate City Entertainment in the year 2010. He also appeared in Ice Prince‘s Oleku single. The hook he used on Oleku was described as one of the most effective hooks performed by a Nigerian singer in the rap track.
Brymo‘s song, Ara, propelled him to the limelight and earned him the Recording of the Year award at the Hip Hop World Awards in 2012.
Early Life & Education
Brymo was born a single child on the 9th of May 1986 in Okokomaiko, Lagos, Nigeria. He was the son of an Awori carpenter, and his mother was an Egun small-scale trader.
Brymo attended an Islamic school where she learned to recite the whole Holy Quran.
He started his studies at Aganju Aka primary school and then transferred to Japual primary school. Then he was transferred to Ajangbadi High School in Ajangbadi, Lagos, receiving his certificate in 2003.
Brymo was a Zoology student at Lagos State University but decided to focus on his music career.

Brymo started his music career at the secondary school in 1999 when he released the track ” Future.”
After hearing his mom perform Fuji music, the singer was attracted to music and decided to pursue it. He founded the band The Aliens, a group with his pals in 2002. The Aliens The Aliens, on contrary, broke up in 2005, following a number of problems. Following that, he began his own solo career, without having a contract with a label.
Brymo gained fame in 2010 when he appeared in the hit song Oleku in Ice Prince’s debut album Everybody Loves Ice Prince.
Brymo’s songs are a blend of fuji R&B music, rock, and pop. He started to Damiete Braide that his music could be categorized as pop because of the way it manages to reach out to people. His albums merchants, dealers, and Slaves and Tabula Rasa are a commentary on social inequity and chaos that plague Nigerian society.
In an interview in 2016, in the magazine OkayAfrica, Brymo said, “Although my songs reflect many issues which are relevant in my society, I believe that human relations is the site where all issues emerge”. The music critic Michael Kolawole claimed that Brymo’s work contains a dose of “profanity couched in intellectualism and philosophical thoughts” Michael also said that Brymo’s music is “affirmations of deep-rooted personal ideology, enigmatic and beautiful lyrical poetry, equations of balanced ribaldry and cheekiness”.

Discography
Brymo has dropped six studio albums as well as a Trance collection album following his first appearance. In 2007 the singer released his debut album of his own, Brymstone. Shawty was one of the album’s tracks and was a huge hit.
