9ice comes from a family of polygamy, with nine wives and five children. They live within Ogbomosho, Oyo State in the Western part of Nigeria. He was born in Bariga an area that is located in Lagos. 9ice throughout his life has been a fan of music and this caused him to drop out of school, and the school that he attended, years ago was Lagos State University whilst studying Law. 9ice started to be involved in music when he reached the age of 14. His parents spotted how talented in the field of music and decided to permit him to pursue a career as an artist.

In 2008, 9ice released his track Gongo Aso, with the track gaining a lot of attention and being accepted across the nation, 9ice was invited to perform at the Nelson Mandela 90th Birthday Tribute concert in London in The United Kingdom in June 2008 along with other A-list artists. 9ice then went on to win the title of Best Hip Hop Artist of the year during the MTV Africa Music Awards.
