FG Suspends Ruga Programme After Public Outcry

Following public outcry over its planned implementation of Ruga settlements for herders, the federal government has suspended the programme.

The Federal Government has announced the suspension of the planned Ruga settlement project, according to a report by Punch.
Three governors are expected to brief the State House correspondent today (Wednesday) on the suspension of controversial RUGA, our correspondent has learnt.
The governors are currently meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Two of the governors expected to brief are Kayode Fayemi and Dave Umahi of Ekiti and Ebonyi States respectively.
Presidential sources said that the suspension of RUGA followed the outcry of Nigerians against the programme.
