Olamide Gbenga Adedeji (born 15 March 1989) is one of the Afrobeats’ most powerful representatives and has contributed to shaping Afrobeats’ culture on the world scene.

The professional name is derived from the moniker Olamideor Olamide Baddo the most prominent Nigerian artist rapper, singer, and music manager.

His parents named him Olamide Gbenga. The family was raised in the center of Bariga, a city that is located in Mainland Lagos. At the age of 15, Olamidehad expressed an interest in studying music. This was after he realized his talent in music since the rapper was proficient at composing music for rap. His initial fan base was his family and acquaintances from the neighborhood with whom he would perform frequently.

Although he had his share of struggles at the beginning of his career in music, However, he kept the vision alive and refused to give up on his dream. He started performing in English to distinguish himself from the crowd of rappers across the country. He changed to indigenous rap and began making songs in his own spoken language of Yoruba.

Olamide Olamide was created on the 15th of March 1989, located in Bariga, Lagos, Nigeria He has two different relatives. After completing his primary and auxiliary schooling in Lagos He then went to Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, in order to study Mass Communication.

In his secondary and elementary schooling, Olamideattended top-tier public schools in Bariga.

After having completed his high school studies and was accepted into the state-owned Ogun Tai Solarin University Of Education. But, he was forced to withdraw from the school because of financial difficulties.

Baddo Sneh began with ID Cabasa‘s Coded Tunes record mark, headed by Toni Paynewhere he created his first collection of studio music. In 2012, he left the label to start his own record label.

Olamide‘s profession began to grow when he was still contracted to Coded Tunes Recordings which was which is owned by ID Cabasa. Under the umbrella of the Coded Tunes, the artist launched his first album, which was commercially successful, Raspodi, in the year 2011. The album’s title track, Omo To Shan was instrumental in establishing Olamide‘s status as the new King in the world of Indigenous Rap (Yoruba). The single also opened the way for even more amazing collaborations with famous names like D’banj Reminisce, 9ice, and Wizkid.

With the producers ID Cabasa, Samklef, and Pheelz along with 2kriss, Olamide recorded and released his sophomore album, Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) in 2013. The album was the collaboration of some of the most popular artists like Dammy Krane Kayswitch, Davido, Tiwa Savage, and Reminisce.

Similar to this, Olamidedropped the third album in the year following. The project was titled “Baddest Guy Liveth” and dropped in the fall of 2013. The 13-track album featured twelve tracks that were produced by Pheelz and featured artists such as Ice Prince, Pepenazi, Viktoh, Phyno, and Bez as guests on the project.

The album was awarded Best album of The Year in the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards and is comprised of top-charting songs like Eleda mi OYemi My Lover, and Durosoke along with The Turn. It also took home Best Rap Album and Album Of The Year at The Headies in 2014.

The album that follows Baddest Guy Ever Liveth was released on the 14th of November 2014 and is titled Street OT, the music album by Olamide. It’s his fourth studio album. It features top singles like Story For The Gods and Goons Mi in its list of tracks. Young John, Pheelz, and B-Banks, a group of sound producers with a unique style were involved in the production.

On November 23rd, the year 2015 Olamidereleased the fifth album of his studio entitled Eyan Mayweather which features 21 tracks. There was no featured artist on the album. In April, he dropped a project in a collaboration that he released with Ibo rapper Phyno called 2 Kings. The album is a joint venture between Penthhauze Music and YBNL Records.

The group includes Pheelz, Phyno, Burna Boy, Davolee, and Wande Coal, and Olamide dropped his sixth studio album entitled The Glory. Pheelz executed his recording of the album, which features 16 tracks and the album debuted on December 23, 2016.

Between 2020 between 2021 and 2020, Olamidereleased a 9-track EP called 999, and two albums, Carpie Diem as well as UY Scuti.

99was released on February 10, 2020, without prior announcement to the general public which makes it a surprise project. In the same vein, Carpie Diem was released on the 8th of October, 2020. It is comprised with 12 songs.

UY Scuti, Olamide‘s father was the inspiration for it, dropped on 18th of June 2021. Olamidehas revealed known that he will release a new album planned and it will be his final album for his work as an artist.

Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) Nation Label is a free-record label that was founded in the year 2012 with the help of Olamide Adedeji. The name refers to a small-time entrepreneur who earns money without any illicit transactions. The label was home to a number of artists including Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Adekunle Gold, D J Enimoney, Picazo, Temmie Ovwasa, and a few others, including Fireboy DML. Although any resemblance to Adekunle Gold Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Lyta, Limerick, Picazo Rhap, and Yomi Blaze has left, Fireboy DML and others remain on the label.
