CLUB CAREER

Gibbs White joined Wolverhampton Wanderers at age 8 and has been a member of the club’s academy for all age groups. At 16 years old, he made his team debut as a substitute for Joe Mason at the 62nd minute in a win over Premier League side Stoke City. This was in the FA Cup 3rd Round on 7 January

2017. His first league appearance was on 14 February 2017, when he lost to Wigan Athletic 1-0 in the EFL Championship.

Gibbs-White signed a contract in January 2018 that would keep him at club until the summer of 2022. As a late substitute, he made his Premier League debut in the first home match against Everton in 2018-19. He was also a substitute for Tottenham Hotspur in the match against Everton on 4 November 2018. His performance, despite losing 3-2 to the team, received praise.

In the Premier League’s home match against Chelsea, on 5/12/2018, he was the midfielder who provided the assist for Wolves first goal by Raul Jimenez. The result was 2-1. He scored his first goal for Wolves on 15 August 2019, his 57th senior appearance. It was in a 4-0 win over FC Pyunik, an Armenian club in a Europa League qualifier.

Gibbs White was disciplined by Wolves during the COVID-19 pandemic for violating government rules by attending an event in London in May 2020.

He signed a three-year contract extension with Wolves on 25 August 2020, before being loaned to Championship side Swansea City in the 2020-21 season. On 12 September, he scored his first goal for Swansea against Preston North End. Gibbs White fractured his foot during Swansea’s match against Millwall on 3 Oct, which led to him missing three months. After the Millwall match, Gibbs-White did not return to Swansea. He was replaced by an 85 minute substitute in the 2-1 win over Watford on February 2, 2021.

Gibbs White was recalled by Wolves from his loan at Swansea City on 6 January 2021. On 9 May 2021, he scored his 41st Premier League goal. It was a late winner in a 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Gibbs White joined Sheffield United on a loan for the 2021-22 seasons on 31 August 2021. He had previously made three appearances for Wolves during the first weeks of the season, including a goal against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. On his debut against Peterborough United, Gibbs-White scored a goal in a 6-2 victory. He also scored again in his second Sheffield United appearance, against Preston North End, on September 14th 2021, which resulted in a draw.

INTERNATIONAL CAREER

Gibbs White was part of the England team which won the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup. He scored twice against the United States, in a 4-1 victory in the quarter-finals and once against Spain in the final. England won the tournament 5-2 against Spain. Rhian Brwer disclosed in a December 2017 interview with The Guardian, that Gibbs White was racially abusing by a Spanish player during final. The FA reported the incident to FIFA.

Gibbs White was named in England’s 23 man squad for the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championships in Italy on 27 May 2019. On 24 June, Gibbs-White made his debut in that age group with a 3-3 draw against Croatia at San Marino Stadium. He played the final 17 minutes of the match in place James Maddison.

PERSONAL LIFE

Gibbs White was born in Stafford and grew up there. He attended Sir Graham Balfour School, his hometown, and then Thomas Telford School, Telford, Shropshire where he was coached.
