October 2016. He celebrated his dream debut by scoring in the game’s 6-1 win. Roerslev played four more times in the 2016-17 campaign and was signed to a four-year deal in the month of May. In the pecking order within the Parken Stadium, he later went on loan with Halmstads BK and Vendsyssel FF however, he did not make any appearances at either team. Roerslev quit FC Copenhagen in August 2019 after playing 13 times and scoring a goal in 3 seasons of senior in the team.

Brentford

2019-2021

On August 7, 2019 Roerslev relocated from England for the first time to be part of the B side of Championship club Brentford with a two-year deal that includes the option of an additional year, at an undisclosed cost. Roerslev was able to join the first team squad in the month of October 2019 and , by March 2020, having made playing in just 10 matches, his performance resulted in him signing an extension to his contract for four years and being elevated to the squad for first. Roerslev ended the 2019-20 season with 14 appearances, however an injury to his metatarsal region sustained during international duty forced him to absent for the initial 4 months of 2020-21’s season. Roerslev came back to match play in the early part of January 2021. After several substitute appearances and a sprain to his coach, Henrik Dalsgaard, allowed Roerslev to be inserted into the starting squad in the early part of April. Roerslev stayed in his spot until the close in the season, and through the playoffs. His season culminated in his promotion into the Premier League after victory in the 2021 Championship play-off Final, in which he was assisting Emiliano Marcondes to score an assist in the goal. Roerslev completed a remarkable 2021-21 season with 22 appearances.

After the departure of the first choice right-back Henrik Dalsgaard, a change in formation from 3-5-2 was made. Roerslev start the 2021-22 season as a stand-in right-wing back Sergi Canos in the pecking order, and they traded positions throughout the entire season. At the midway point of the season, growing injuries to the central defensive positions were able to see Roerslev being placed in a right-back position. He ended the 2021-22 campaign with 26 games and one goal scoring the winning goal in the 1-1 Premier League victory over Aston Villa on the 2nd of January in 2022.

International career

Roerslev was capped by Denmark in every age group from U17 to U21. He was a part of the Denmark teams at the 2016and 2018 2021 UEFA European U17, U19 and U21 Championships, respectively. The 2022 season began in May. Roerslev received a call to the team’s senior training camps ahead of the 2022-23 UEFA Nations League A matches.
