Lagos: Factory Worker In Court For Raping 15-Year-Old

A factory worker identified as Johnson Alazi has been brought before the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Ikeja by the police for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl.

According to the report, Alazi allegedly lured the teenager to the back of the Glorious Life Evangelical Church in the Okokomaiko area of Lagos around 2 pm on October 9 and thereafter had carnal knowledge of her.

The prosecutor, Felicia Okwori, told the court that the victim started bleeding and was rushed to hospital by some members of the church, who heard her cry.

Okwori revealed that the incident was reported by the victim’s mother at the police station and the factory worker was arrested.

The plea of Alazi, who was arraigned on one count of rape, was rejected by Magistrate G. O. Anifowose.

The magistrate ordered that the defendant be remanded in the Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.

The matter was adjourned till December 5 for mention.
